Which years of data does it use?

It uses annual CPI data for Turkey covering the 2010–2024 period. You pick a start and end year within this range to see the cumulative inflation effect between the two dates.

How should I interpret the result?

The output is the equivalent purchasing power of your starting amount in the end year. A higher figure means you'd need more lira today to buy the same basket of goods, reflecting how much value inflation has eroded.

What is the custom rate option for?

It lets you enter your own assumed inflation rate instead of the official CPI. This is handy for testing personal scenarios or applying a rate that better matches your own spending basket.

How does the annual projection feature work?

It forecasts how your amount's purchasing power will change in future years using a yearly rate you set. Projections are assumption-based and actual inflation may turn out differently.

Can I do both backward and forward calculations?

Yes. With 2010–2024 historical data you can find equivalents backward or forward in time, and the projection mode estimates values beyond 2024. It's best to use each mode separately.

Can I use these results for official purposes?

No, the results are estimates for informational purposes only. For official matters like rent increases, alimony, taxes, or contracts, rely on the latest official statistics and consult the relevant regulations or a financial advisor.

Why does my personal inflation feel different from the result?

The tool uses the general CPI basket, but your spending mix (rent, food, fuel weights) may differ from it. In that case, enter your own estimated rate in the custom rate field for a more personalized result.
